  • 27 Jan: The activity on Study group is now stopped, with deactivation of study group list, as the first WG meeting and associated lists are active.

  • 6th meeting (Conf call) happened on 14 Dec 2011. Arjuna presented on the QWERTY,INSCRIPT adaptations for Smartphones available in the market.

  • 10 Dec: P1908.1 Virtual keyboard standard for indic languages is approved by IEEE SASB following recommendation (on page 10) from Nescom (New standards committee)

  • Indic Virtual keyboard standards 5th meeting (Conf call) at 3PM on 3 Nov. Kesav, Samsung to speak on Screen size and resolutions suitable for Indic virtual keyboards.

  • 26 Sep: Draft Project Authorisation request titled "Standard for Indic Virtual keyboards" submitted to IEEE COMSOC, sponsor for the proposed standard for review.

  • Indic input meeting -4th meeting is scheduled for Jul-29 at IEEE office from 4PM to 6 PM. Agenda is to discuss the Project authorisation request.

  • 15 Jun: indic-input-stds mailing list is now active. Request all interested to sign up as future discussions will be shared to that list only.

  • Department of Information Technology, Nokia, Samsung expressed interest in participating the working group for indic input method standard development. Additional details to be worked out in future meeting.

  • Open invitation to people and other stakeholders from Mobile/Telecom to join the initiative

  • Indic-input-stds group meeting held on on 27 Jun at CIS-Domlur, from 4PM to 6 PM. Agenda was to kick off the study group and achieve consensus on purpose and scope for study group. Arjun presented briefly about ieee study group objectives and work needed. Dr Somnath presented about the W3C work.

  • Second meeting on indic input for mobile phones -6 May 2011, 1630-1800hrs, Nokia Salarpuria hallmark, Outer ring road. For meeting minutes check mail archives

  • Indic input for mobile phones -First kick off meeting held on Feb 24,2011 at Bangalore. Looking for people to express their interest in study group.
